Alpha male is formally defined as follows:
al·pha male (plural al·pha males)

Definition:
1. dominant male animal: a male in a pack of wolves, or a similar pack or troop of animals, that other members submit to and follow and that takes priority in mating with females
2. dominant man: a man who controls the activities of a group and to whom others defer ( informal )
Often, a man who is considered an Alpha Male is thought to be a brute, a cad, a bully, or a cheat. We consider the term somewhat differently.
To us, an Alpha Male is a man who is just that; a MAN. Manly. A stud, if you will. He is confident and assertive, but also gentlemanly and secure.
So....who, then, is a "Beta Girl"? Is she weak and submissive? Is she insecure and needy? NO! She is simply a woman who wants a man to be a man. A MAN! She is attracted to someone strong and commanding. She wants a guy who oozes testosterone, but aims to please.
This site is dedicated both to the Alpha Male and the Beta Girls who appreciate them.

As far as cheating, I think any personality type is equally likely to do so. In fact, I think some men who are less confident are just as inclined toward cheating, as it may temporarily boost their ego.
But, regardless of how rakishly handsome my Alpha may be, if he cheats, he's gone. I love myself too much, and there are plenty of Alphas in the sea!!
