Viva La Romance! Favorite Romantic Scenes

It should come as no surprise to Beta Girl readers that I am a huge fan of romance. However, not just any old romantic movie will do. It has to touch some part of you, has to make you feel "that" emotion. It has to strike a chord deep inside that makes you feel that gooey feeling that you crave. It really should make you wiggle in your chair....just a little

Some of the most romantic movie scenes come from films that are not even billed as romantic. It is all about that moment. I'm just plain in love with love, and I can't get enough.

OMG, That scene when Gerry is moving in on Holly with the guitar is just amazing! And the kiss on the road in Ireland! It is so chaste, and yet every time I watch that scene, I can feel it down to my toes (and other places!). I'm so glad the camera focuses on G's lips, because NOBODY else kisses like that man! I love how you can see the cool temperature of the day in their complexions. It's so earthy and romantic!

Haven't seen Definitely, Maybe yet!

I like the scene in the Notebook, where they're kissing in the rain. that one makes me melt. Great post again Nat. That second video made me want to see some of those movies again.

Oh my gosh, the Notebook! How could I have forgotten those amazing kissing scenes? Very romantic movie.

Swannie, I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said. Every last thing! That kiss on the road, I lose it completely. That kiss is so perfect. And you are right about it. It's amazing because it is so innocent, and there isn't spit and tongue everywhere. That's been done. This was pure romance!

Oh and I just now remembered the kiss from Dear Frankie! Another physically subtle kiss, but one with so much raw emotion and longing, it makes you ache.

One of my all time favorite screen kisses is from The Thorn Birds when Father Ralph runs to Meggie on the beach. I totally lost it when I saw that miniseries for the first time.

I'm sure I'll think of more!

Oh...the Thorn Birds. That is the ultimate.

I also just remembered. There is a really sweet kiss in the movie "The Holiday" between Cameron Diaz and Jude Law. He actually kisses her eyelids. *swoon*
