We've been absolutely beside ourselves here at the Beta Girl Blog with so many new movies coming out on DVD and Blu Ray Disc!
Of course, the one we must admit is the most exciting is Guy Ritchie's "RocknRolla" which will be released on DVD and Blu Ray on January 27th! This is a MUST SEE film for anyone who was a fan of Mr. Ritchie's earlier work. If you're not familiar with Guy Ritchie's work, let me just say that this film offers guns, gangsters, humor, and lots of eye candy! See our full review here: RocknRolla: Guy Ritchie's Triumphant Return
Pre-order the movie now on Amazon.com. And, for those of you outside the U.S., you won't have to wait long either. The Region 2 DVD will be released on Feb. 2nd, and for the Aussies, you can expect the DVD to be released on March 4! Yay!
A film that was just released on DVD here in the States is "Appaloosa" starring Viggo Mortensen. This engaging western adventure was enjoyable, and I encourage everyone to get out there and rent it ASAP!
This film will be available to all regions between now and Feb 2!
I would have never thought I would have enjoyed this next film, but I gave it a try, and it was surprisingly fun and entertaining! "Death Race" is a remake of the Roger Corman cult classic "Death Race 2000", and stars Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, and Ian McShane, to name a few. While this movie isn't going to stimulate your critical thinking skills, it will certainly stimulate a few other things.
The action is edge of your seat, and the plot is actually fairly engaging. I must admit I am a sucker for the near future "Beyond Thunderdome" style of movie. I also am a HUGE fan of Ian McShane. Honestly, the scene of Jason Statham doing pull ups in his prison cell is worth the price of the DVD!
If political intrigue is more your bag, get ready for the upcoming release of "Body of Lies" on DVD, starring Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio. Directed by Ridley Scott, this thriller will keep your pulse pounding in a tale of espionage and betrayal. The U.S. DVD release in set for Feb. 17. U.K. can expect to see this DVD on March 23.
All of these films are sure to get your adrenaline pumping, not mention what they will do to your blood pressure...hello boys! Let us know if you've seen any of these films, and what you thought of them!
