Nevaldine/Taylor's "Game" Trailer Leaked Online

March 27th 2009 11:30
Nevaldine and Taylor, the fellas who brought us Crank and the upcoming Crank: High Voltage, have another film coming down the pipeline, and this one stars our beloved Gerard Butler!

According to IMdb.com:

Game is a near-future action/thriller starring Gerard Butler (Kable) as the champion of an on-line game called "Slayers". Mind-control technology has taken society by storm and "Slayers" allows humans control other humans in mass-scale, multiplayer online game. With his every move tracked by millions, Kable's ultimate challenge becomes regaining his identity and launching an attack on the system that has imprisoned him.

Beta Girl has been waiting FOREVER for some kind of a trailer to pop up, and finally this one has been leaked. It is in Italian, but gives us the first glimpse of footage from this action packed film.

In a recent interview for Scifiscoop.com, Mark Neveldine says that there is more to the film than brainless action.

“It’s a guy who needs to get back to his wife and his daughter, and he needs to fight the system. It’s a movie about control, about how we’re controlled, and more and more every day. I mean, this is happening. We really tend to do a lot of research, and have a lot of truth involved in our scripts,” said Neveldine, “and this is another situation where we studied and we’re reading about nanotechnology and we’re learning that we’ll soon all have IPs, just like computers. This is true, this is happening. The cameras are out, Big Brother is getting bigger. And we were a little scared about where this is going, and just wanted to make an ass-kicking film [about it].”

Game is set for a September 2009 release.
