A sequel to 300??

That's right, Betas. It appears that some Alphas are going to have to hit the gym again very soon. According to this article in Variety, "Legendary Pictures has confirmed it is developing a "300" follow-up for Warner Bros. that Frank Miller is writing and Zack Snyder is intended to direct."
What do we think about this? What would a sequel or prequel be about? Could it ever compare to the original? Could King Leonidas even be a part of it, considering "300" chronicles his life from childhood to death?
As skeptical as I am about this idea, it is comforting to know that Miller and Snyder are helming the project again. I would sincerely hope that they wouldn't release anything unless it did justice to the first film.
What do we think about all of these sequels in general? I for one would like to see a smidgen more originality at the Box Office. Franchise films are fun, but are they beginning to squash the independent, imaginative, original ideas?
However, I guess it is kind of difficult to complain about seeing another movie filled with buffed up Spartan Alpha males running around in their leather underoos!
We'd love to hear your thoughts.
